Introduction to Handguns

Introduction to Handguns course is designed for those individuals with little-to-no handgun experience. Following the classroom instruction, students will have the opportunity to practice the skills learned in class with live-fire experience. If you are a beginner with little-to-no experience, this is the class for you.
Focus Areas:
- Universal Firearm Safety
- Different types of handguns
- Safe loading and unloading procedures
- Live-fire exercises to demonstrate proper loading and unloading and safe handling procedures learned
1-2 hour class time and 1 hour range time
Required Equipment: Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 50 rounds of ammunition
Handguns may be rented at no cost but will require you to purchase C2 Tactical’s range ammunition for use.
Pistol 200
Fundamental Shooting Skills

This course is designed around learning the fundamental skills behind shooting handguns both safely and accurately and is the second-level class in the C2 Tactical Pistol Curriculum. The course is with a high instructor-to-student ratio, allowing for a close, personal hands-on attention while still being in a relaxed classroom environment. Course instruction includes classroom work, hands-on practice. This class is designed for anyone that cannot aim consistently 2” groups at 21ft.
Focus Areas:
- Excellent for beginners to intermediate shooters
- Key fundamental features include grip, proper operation of your firearm, stance, sight alignment, and trigger squeeze
- Learn and review universal firearm safety
- Practice one of the hardest to master skills – trigger control
- Excellent review for seasoned shooters that have not been shooting for a while and would like to group their rounds within 2 inches at 21ft
- Skills required for anyone looking at the Concealed Carry course
- Skills required for students interested in moving on to the more advanced shooting courses

Required Equipment: Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 100 rounds of ammunition.
Handguns may be rented at no cost but will require you to purchase C2 Tactical’s range ammunition for use
Pistol 300
Practical Shooting Skills

The Practical Shooting course is the third in the sequence of handgun instruction. It builds upon the skills found in the Fundamental Shooting course and on your own personal experience. Our Practical Shooting Skills course focuses on the more complex movements required for advanced level shooting. The class is a 5 hour course and includes classroom work, hands-on practice, and drills while working through malfunctions under stress.
Focus Areas:
- Proper methods to draw from the holster (Strong Side)
- Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster
- Multi-round shots & follow-through
- Appropriate sight picture at various target distances
- Advanced reloading techniques, advanced malfunction clearances
- Shooting under stress and follow through assessment
1 hour class time, the remainder is range time
Class Prerequisites:
Students must have the basic skills required to safely load, unload and operate their firearm without any assistance and be able to consistently shoot 4” groups at 21ft. Students MUST have all the appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course. Failure to meet these guidelines will prohibit you from attending the course. All necessary equipment is available for purchase for most firearms.

- Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition
- Semi-automatic pistol with 3 magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with 3-speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders

Pistol 400
Defensive Shooting Fundamentals I

The Defensive Handgun Skills course is the fourth in the sequence of handgun instruction at C2 Tactical and builds upon the skills found in the Practical Shooting Skills course. The class is a 5 hour course and includes classroom work, hands-on practice, and drills.
Focus Areas:
- Will include all previously learned skills (now incorporating flashlight manipulation)
- Draw stroke can include concealment if you choose
- Advanced reloading & malfunction drills
- Basic shooting with cover/concealment
- Basic low light shooting techniques
1 hour class time, remainder is range time
Class Prerequisites:
Students must have the basic skills required to safely load unload and operate their firearm without any assistance and be able to consistently shoot 4” groups at 21ft. Students MUST have all the appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course. Failure to meet these guidelines will prohibit you from attending the course. All necessary equipment is available for purchase for most firearms.
Required Equipment:
- Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition
- Semi-automatic pistol with 3 magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with 3-speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders

Defensive Shooting Fundamentals II

The Tactical Handgun Skills course is the fifth in the sequence of handgun instruction at C2 Tactical. This class builds upon the skills found in the Defensive Handgun Skills course. The class is a 5 hour course and includes classroom work, hands-on practice, and drills.
Focus Areas:
- Advanced shooting with movement/low light
- Advanced shooting with cover/concealment/low light
- Advanced low light shooting techniques
- Close quarter/retention shooting
- Searching/assessing techniques
1 hour class time, the remainder is range time
Class Prerequisites:
Students must have the basic skills required to safely load unload and operate their firearm without any assistance and be able to consistently shoot 4” groups at 21ft. Students MUST have all the appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course. Failure to meet these guidelines will prohibit you from attending the course. All necessary equipment is available for purchase for most firearms. Successful completion of P400.

- Advanced shooting with cover/concealment one-handed
- Advanced malfunction clearances one-handed
- Close quarter/retention shooting one-handed
- Searching/Assessing techniques

Pistol Mounted Optics

More and more Holographic, prismatic and reflex sights or simply red dot sights are in use on pistols and especially on defensive pistols
This course will look at a cross section of the different manufacture reflective sights showing the options on a wide selection of popular handguns. The focus is learning why would I choose a red dot sight over iron sights to how do I use it, presentation, manipulations, defensive shooting and more of a red-dot sight equipped fighting handgun.
This class is “A mimic of our popular Practical Shooting Skills course P300”.
Regardless of your age, gender, or experience, completing the P300RD class will change your life! You will be well grounded in the ‘Modern Technique of the Pistol’, including marksmanship, gun handling and mindset. This is an intermediate level pistol course. This course is designed for students who desire to evolve their skills in a practical, outdoor shooting environment. Our “no ego” approach to instruction encourages you to advance your knowledge, skills, and attitude to a higher level. This course is a physically demanding course, requiring students to move rapidly between positions of up to 25 yards. Students must be realistic about their physical condition and gun handling skills if considering attending this course.
This dynamic performance pistol course is designed to put the shooter through a series of challenging drills to measure performance on demand. The class will conclude with a series of Task, Conditions, and Skills required to pass the course.

This is an advanced level pistol course. At this advanced skill level, even very minor improvements in your technique will lead to major differences. You will be expected to perform to the highest level of standards. You will master one hand manipulation how to clear pistol malfunctions while physically impaired. Speed is a byproduct of proficiency and consistency; tactical problems will increase in complexity.
After completion of this course, you’ll be able to quickly and accurately engage multiple targets, move and effectively utilize cover, shoot from unconventional positions, and be exposed to both close-quarters shooting applications and firing under stress. This class will conclude with a series of Task, Conditions, and Skills required to pass the course.

Low-Light, No-Light
Carbine or Handgun

Over 50% of personal violence encounters occur during low light environments. This class is designed to provide you with the techniques and experience to be effective in these situations. The course will cover utilizing your firearm with a light source, ambient light sources (ex. street lights, car lights, and ambient lighting), and the tactical advantage of complete darkness. After completion of this course, you will understand the application and uses of weapon mounted light and flashlight techniques. You will also be able to demonstrate proper weapon manipulation in low light or darkness.

- Types of flashlights, weapon light, night sights, accessories, etc.
- Tactical handgun flashlight techniques (handheld/mounted)
- Weapon manipulation with a flashlight
- Use of cover and concealment with a flashlight
