NRA CCW Instructor

This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. The NRA CCW Instructor Course is intended to advance the individuals that are current NRA BoPS Instructors to the next level. This instructor-led only course gives you direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor day one will be classroom and dry practice. Day 2 will be range day held at Cowtown Shooting range with an Instructor.
Course length is 2 days, and does meet the state requirement for an AZ CCW permit. Additionally, students may complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive for use during the course reference books, take a NRA CCW Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

NRA Basic CCW: takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. This course may be completed in a single day format or over several days with smaller blocks of instruction.
Course topics include: Firearm Safety (Mandatory), Pistol Nomenclature and Selecting a Pistol for Self-Defense, Mindset, Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment.
Course length is determined by the Instructor, to meet your State’s requirements for a CCW permit. Personal Protection In The Home Instructor Course

This is an intense and extensive course over two days teaching you the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, promoting, and teaching the NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course. This course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training and PPIH instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Instructor Candidate Packet and NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home course student packet.
Students should expect to shoot approximately 300 rounds of ammunition or more. Students will leave with the confidence of being able to properly teach the PPIH course to the NRA Standard.

Class Prerequisites:
All students must already hold NRA Certified Pistol Instructor ratings and recommend having completed the student portion of PPITH successfully. You will be required to demonstrate you have the proper skills to safely load and unload various types of firearms. Then you will proceed to the range to perform the shooting portion of the test to verify that you meet the NRA standards. The NRA demands the highest quality of professional firearms instructors and we have been entrusted with verifying that you can pass the basic requirements before proceeding. Students that fail the basic requirements will have to reschedule and retest at the next available date. We reserve the right to fail any student at any time for safety violations. You will also be required to demonstrate advanced pistol knowledge and techniques.
All students must have taken the Basic Instructor Training (BIT) course within the last two years. We offer that class separately for $100 for those who need it.

NRA Personal Protection In The Home Student Course

Students should expect to shoot approximately 300 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. This course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, and cleaning the firearm). NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home Student Course

This is an intense and extensive course taught over 2 days, that teaches students the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home. The course is divided into two levels. Level one is 9 hours and offers the essential knowledge and skills that must be mastered in order to carry, store, and use a firearm safely and effectively for personal protection outside the home. Students spend several hours on the range and shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition during level one. Upon completion, students will attend level two, which is an additional 5 hours on the range and approximately 115 rounds of ammunition learning advanced shooting skills. Time and ammunition requirements are minimums and will be exceeded. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure and appropriate (level one/level two) course completion certificates.

Participants must also understand the basic legal concepts relating to the use of firearms in self-defense and must know and observe not only general gun safety rules, but also those safety principles that are specific to defensive situations. Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills, and attitudes by producing an NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course Certificate, or bypassing the pre-course evaluation.

This NRA Basic Rifle course deals with the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for owning and using a rifle safely. Through this course, you will learn about rifle parts, their function, and their operation. Ammunition, gun safety, and shooting fundamentals will also be covered. This course utilizes the concept of discovery learning, i.e. hands-on learning. This course is a mixture of testing, live-fire drills, dry-fire exercises, lecture, and personal practice on the student’s part.

This course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training and NRA Chief Range Safety Officer training. NRA Range Safety Officer Course

This intense 1-day course develops NRA Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. This course is a mixture of testing, dry-fire exercises, lecture and personal practice on the student’s part. This Certification is required before you can become an NRA Chief Range Safety Officer. NRA Instructor Development Workshop

The Refuse To Be A Victim crime prevention seminar, a program of the National Rifle Association, is pleased to offer this easy-to-understand information.
Women and men interested in becoming Refuse To Be A Victim instructors attend a one-day Instructor Development Workshop to acquire the training and credentials required to teach Refuse To Be A Victim Seminars in the community. The workshop, generally takes about 12 hours to complete.
Instructor Development Workshops are taught by Regional Counselors and begin with a Refuse To Be Victim Seminar. In general, seminars heighten public awareness of what can and should be done to stay safe. The workshop then focuses on the technical aspects of the program; instructor expectations; certification guidelines; speaking and presentation skills; marketing strategies.

This seminar includes classroom instruction on a variety of crime prevention strategies, from criminal psychology to automobile crimes to cybercrime. Seminars can vary in length and may be modified to suit the needs of a particular audience. This is not a firearms instruction course and does not include instruction in physical combat self-defense. Seminars teach common weaknesses that criminals may take advantage of and a variety of corrective measures that are practical, inexpensive, and easy to follow. Strategies include home security, carjack avoidance techniques, cyber safety, and the use of personal safety devices.

NRA Home Firearm Safety Instructor Course

Do you have a passion to teach people firearms safety? Well now is your chance! This is an intense 1-day course. The pre-requisite for this course is Basic Instructor Training (BIT). This is usually fulfilled by having another NRA Instructor certification. This non-shooting course covers all firearms types: Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Muzzle loaders, as well as Air guns. This is a hands-on course. As an instructor candidate you will be role playing to teach all of the firearms types, and safe handling.
